Dear AU Community,

AUPD and the Facilities team is responding with DC Fire and Washington Gas to address a detected gas leak in the area behind the Hall of Science. Please stay away from that area of campus until further notice. The area is blocked off and any affected buildings were immediately evacuated.聽

These measures are being taken out of an abundance of caution as we work with the emergency response teams to ensure the area is safe. The leak has been isolated, and buildings are safe for re-entry, with the exception of Beeghly Hall. We expect the matter to be fully resolved in approximately one hour and will provide any necessary further updates.
